Cabot has announced its first-ever Outdoor Trend of the Year for outdoor spaces. Earning the title for 2022 are outdoor workspaces, which have rapidly grown in popularity due to people spending more time at home. Outdoor workspaces offer a versatile solution for people in need of a designated space for working from home, crafting, doing homework and much more. “Our first annual Trend of the Year seeks to provide inspiration with on-trend project ideas using Cabot stain to help make the most of living spaces,” said Jose Gonzalez, associate brand manager, Cabot. “We know our customers enjoy and value time spent outside and take immense pride in creating outdoor spaces that extend the livability of their homes. Cabot offers products to not only protect exterior wood but to help beautify outdoor spac-es using wood stain colors and opacity that suits your style.” Within the outdoor workspace trend, Cabot brand has identified three projects varying in size, style and budget to support the inaugural Trend of the Year, including: • Outdoor desk – This portable and functional desk includes space for every must-have workday essential, regardless of the work your doing—from laptops and notebooks to pots, plants and bags of soil. Plus, Cabot brand recommends wheeled legs for added con-venience, so you can take full advantage of the goes-anywhere-so-you-can-work-from-anywhere work surface. • Outdoor café – With the look of a beautiful outdoor café or dining room, this project is perfect for those needing a bit more room to work. With a focus on transforming a porch, patio or small portion of yard into an outdoor workspace complete with pergola-style roof and partitions, this project seeks to create a designated workspace that gives the feeling of being indoors when you’re outside. • Shed – This one-room option delivers a more permanent outdoor workspace—complete with door, work surface and electricity—that is entirely separate from your living space. A folding door lets warm breezes and sunshine in or shuts out wet and windy conditions. Cabot brand’s Pewter Gray, a balance of weathered gray and comforting neutral, is the anchoring color used in elements of all three Trend of the Year projects. The color offers relaxed refinement to outdoor living spaces and connects nature and beauty of aged wood textures. Pewter Gray is available in Cabot Solid, Semi-Solid and Semi-Transparent exteri-or wood stain.
