Lubrizol has announced the launch of Solsperse W40 Hyperdispersant, a 100% active, APE-free aqueous dispersant engineered to improve pigment dispersion and stability in water-based coatings and universal colorant systems. With excellent compatibility in oil-based alkyd paints, Solsperse W40 enables production of universal colorants which can be used with both water and solvent-containing base paints.
Solsperse W40 is designed to disperse both organic and inorganic materials effectively—even in systems containing high levels of fillers—offering formulators a robust, flexible solution for modern architectural coatings. The dispersant can also be used as a post-addition compatibilizer to improve color acceptance between water-based colorants and a wide range of base paint chemistries.
As part of Lubrizol’s industry-recognized Solsperse™ dispersant portfolio, Solsperse™ W40 provides the stabilizing power, pigment wetting efficiency and broad compatibility needed for today’s complex colorant and coating systems.
