Arkema Names New Vice President, Raw material & Energy Procurement

Hervé Castres Saint-Martin, 53, was most recently regional director of Acrylic Monomers.

Arkema said Hervé Castres Saint-Martin was appointed as vice president, Raw Material and Energy Procurement, effective Friday. 

Saint-Martin, 53, graduated from the Paris Ecole Supérieure de Physique et Chimie Industrielles (ESPCI) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (IFP – Rueil Malmaison). He holds an MBA from Insead (Fontainebleau).

He started his career with Shell in 1991, working in production and as an economic and strategic analyst.

 

In 1997, he joined Elf Atochem’s Petrochemicals Plastics business unit as polystyrene product manager.

(Elf Atochem became Atofina in 2000, then Arkema in 2004.)

 

From February 2003 to June 2009, he successively held the positions of director, Solvents and Chlorinated Derivatives and director, Hydrogen Peroxide and Chlorates for Europe.

 

He joined the Acrylics business unit in July 2009 as director, Acrylic Monomers for Europe and Asia.

 

He had been regional director of the Acrylic Monomers business in Asia based in Shanghai since July 2014.
