The 32nd Annual 2015 Mid-America Street Rod Nationals Plus at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Missouri will be held on May 22-24. Axalta Coating Systems, a global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, is pleased to support this show as well as eleven other custom car shows across the country this year. We’ll be cruisin’ into Springfield with car-collecting legend Gil Losi Sr.’s 1956 Plymouth Belvedere convertible that is painted with Axalta’s Cromax and Hot Hues refinish systems. This event promises to be one of the biggest vintage car shows in the city’s recent history. The Mid-America Street Rod Nationals attracts more than 2,000 street rods, custom cars, muscle cars and street machines. Builders and enthusiasts will gather to network, develop ideas and answer the all-important question, “What color should I paint my new project car?” Axalta representatives will be on hand to offer show attendees amazing examples of automotive art that is created with our brilliant paint including our global refinish brands: Cromax, Standox and Spies Hecker, as well as our Hot Hues line of custom colors. Axalta will also be promoting its recently announced 2015 Paint Outside the Can Contest. The contest is an invitation to unleash creativity using any Axalta-branded coating system to paint and decorate an unused, standard one-gallon paint can. Submissions will be recognized and displayed via certain social media channels throughout the contest. At the end of the contest, which closes September 15, 2015, six “Celebrity Picks” will be selected by industry celebrities who will vote for their favorites based on creativity, execution and degree of difficulty. In addition, six “Fan Favorites” will be chosen by fans based on the number of photo “likes” that these favorites received on Axalta’s Instagram page. Finally, one “Best-in-Show” grand prize winner will be selected from the six “Celebrity Picks.”
