On Friday 3rd July, the British Coatings Federation (BCF) hosted its sixth annual charity bike ride in aid of The Myton Hospices, setting off from its Coventry office before taking riders through the Warwickshire countryside.

This year’s event saw 38 riders, who took part in one of three distances: 35km, 52km, or 100km. BCF participants have cycled a total of 24,638km over the course of all six charity bike rides, a distance equivalent to travelling from Coventry to Argentina and back.

This year’s fundraising efforts have so far raised over £10,000 for Myton in memory of BCF colleague Callum Plummer, who sadly passed away in January 2025 at the age of just 22.

Tom Bowtell, CEO of BCF, said: “BCF is proud to continue supporting The Myton Hospices through our Charity Cycle, a cause that is close to our hearts as we rode in memory of our much-missed colleague Callum Plummer. I am incredibly proud of everyone who took part, donated, sponsored or supported the event. The commitment shown by our riders and supporters reflects the strength and generosity of the coatings sector community, and it is wonderful to see that effort making a real difference to a charity that provides such important care for people and families across our region.”

Chris Willmott, Partnerships Manager at The Myton Hospices, commented: “A huge thank you to everyone involved in the British Coatings Federation’s Ride Warwickshire event in memory of Callum Plummer.”

The Myton Hospices are dedicated to enhancing life when cure is no longer an option; supporting people living with a terminal illness, and their families, from the point of diagnosis to end of life.
