Hempel’s Hempadur AvantGuard product range won the New Product Innovation Award at Frost & Sullivan’s 2015 European Growth, Innovation and Leadership Awards. The award was presented at a banquet at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on May 14. Each year Frost & Sullivan acknowledges industry leaders and innovators for their superlative achievements throughout the year. The awards encompass a range of industries, from information and communication technologies to chemicals and healthcare. This year, Hempel’s Hempadur AvantGuard activated zinc primers took the New Product Innovation Award at the event. The award recognizes the products’ ability to provide superior anti-corrosive protection for steel structures in tough environments. According to Frost & Sullivan, this ensures the coatings can meet customer requirements for performance and reliability in harsh environments. When presenting the award, Gary Jeffery, Partner, Director – UK Operations at Frost & Sullivan, said: “Hempel has developed a coating system that activates all of the zinc in the coating. As a result, the coating meets and often exceeds customer requirements for performance and reliability. This enables customers to improve both productivity and the durability of their assets.” The award was collected by Hempel’s AvantGuard team, which consisted of Pernille Lind Olsen, David Morton, Karsten Soerensen, Santiago Arias and Josep Palasi. Pernille Lind Olsen, Group Protective Product Director, said: “Hempadur AvantGuard is a step-change in the development of zinc coatings. We have managed to significantly improve the anti-corrosive performance and mechanical strength of the coatings. At the same time, we understand that productivity is important for customers, so we have created a coating that is easy to apply. We are extremely pleased that Frost & Sullivan have recognized this achievement.”
