Greenkote’s Zinc-Based Coatings Receive ISO Certification

Greenkote PLC, provider of ecofriendly anti-corrosion metal coatings, confirmed that it has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification. ISO 9000 is a family of standards that define, establish and maintain an effective quality assurance system for the manufacturing and service industries. The standards have been developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and are available through national standards bodies.

ISO certification may be pursued by companies seeking formal process improvement and enhancement of customer satisfaction to compete in the engineered and commercial products markets. Greenkote’s certification process involved creation of a formal quality management system with defined procedures as well as internal audits and a two-stage audit conducted by third-party certification bodies to document compliance.

Greenkote PLC is the inventor and global provider of Greenkote metal coatings. These proprietary zinc-based coatings are applied to ferrous metals and alloys by a patented thermal diffusion process. Greenkote is fully compliant with ASTM A1059/A1059M, an industry standard specification for zinc alloy coatings. Greenkote coatings block corrosion, increase wear resistance, eliminatehydrogen embrittlement and improve the adhesion of paints and other topcoats. The Greenkote name derives from its eco-friendliness, since the process is completely free of acids, chromium, heavy metals and other hazardous materials and it generates no toxic byproducts, the company said.
