HIS Paint Manufacturing announced the appointment of Mike Black as chief executive officer. Black reports directly to Joe Cox, chairman of the board.

“Mike has a proven track record of leading regional teams within the paint industry and creating proven sales strategies that expand the market share of each region he has led,” says Cox.  “His ability to align diverse teams and drive results will be key in advancing our strategic plan.”

Black joins HIS Paint Manufacturing from his role as director of commercial sales at Sherwin-Williams, bringing extensive sales management experience and a strong operations background.  His previous roles also included vice president of sales operations at Kelly-Moore Paints.

“I am excited to join HIS Paint Manufacturing at such an important time in its history, as it continues its expansion,” said Black.  “I’ve participated in several impactful initiatives such as brokering the formulation of paint in Vietnam and being the first person, outside ownership, to oversee sales and operations in my former role at Kelly-Moore.  Each one of my career achievements has prepared me for the opportunity which lies ahead”.

Cox added that “the addition of Black strengthens our company’s ability to execute our long-term growth strategy.  We are pleased to welcome Mike and look forward to the impact his leadership will provide.”
