NACE International, the world’s largest nonprofit organization serving the corrosion control industry, is proud to announce that its Houston Headquarters has earned ISO 9001:2008 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the design and delivery of Education, Certification, Conferences, Subscription Services (Membership and Publications), and Technical Documents. “NACE has grown significantly and quickly over the past five years,” said NACE CEO Bob Chalker, “it was time to put our house in order, to take a good look at how we operate and to see where there was room for improvement. Embarking on the ISO 9001:2008 journey came at the right time and has set us on a much clearer and brighter path forward toward the future.” NACE International’s ISO 9001:2008 achievement applies to a quality management system supporting all areas of the organization including technical activities, course development, education, customer service, membership, conferences, certifications, publications, human resources, and purchasing. With more than 35,000 members in 130 countries, a large segment of NACE International operations relate to standards-writing. NACE International has 155 of most specified corrosion standards worldwide. “We know how effective standards can be in keeping an industry or a business operating consistently,” said NACE COO Matt Miller. “Standards ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. Many of our members are ISO certified and recognize not only the effort it takes to get here, but also what it means to the quality of service they can expect from us.” Established in 1947, ISO is an independent, non-governmental organization composed of 166 member countries that represent the national standards bodies worldwide. ISO is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards and has published more than 19,500 International Standards covering almost every industry.
