PPG announced that it will showcase its growing portfolio of paints and coatings for battery electric vehicles (EV) at The Battery Show, which takes place at the Messe Stuttgart exhibition center in Stuttgart, Germany, May 23-25. PPG’s exhibit (booth #8-D45) will include battery fire protection and thermal management solutions, as well as dielectric coating systems that improve performance, durability and safety, along with other coatings innovations that are supporting the shift to battery EVs. PPG will also highlight coatings solutions for the design, construction and production of lithium-ion battery cells, modules, and packs. These coatings enhance performance, safety, and manufacturability, enabling auto makers, and battery and component manufacturers to accelerate the development of energy storage solutions. “Battery electric vehicles are the new frontier in sustainable mobility,” said Cedric Zipperlin, PPG director, commercial excellence, Automotive Coatings, EMEA. “Along with protecting and beautifying vehicles, PPG delivers innovative and customer-specific lithium-ion battery pack solutions that touch virtually every area of battery design and construction. These innovative technologies improve driver safety, assist customers in meeting sustainability goals and increase manufacturability.”
