PPG to Highlight Color Selector Tool, E-Binder App at CONSTRUCT 2015

PPG Industries’ coil and building products-exterior coatings group will exhibit its full line of DURANAR liquid and powder coatings for coil and extrusion applications at CONSTRUCT 2015 in St. Louis, Oct. 1-2, along with CORAFLON powder coatings and two recently introduced online specification tools.

Duranar coatings on display will include Duranar ULTRA-COOL coatings and color-shifting Duranar VARI-COOL coatings, both of which feature PPG’s proprietary infrared-reflective coating technology. Duranar GR (graffiti-resistant) and Coraflon GR liquid coatings also will be highlighted, along with Duranar and Coraflon powder coatings, which combine exceptional hardness and durability with solvent-free formulations that emit virtually no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Designed for high-end architectural applications, Duranar and Coraflon fluoropolymer coatings have been trusted by architects for decades to provide exceptional colorfastness and gloss retention on curtain walls and other metal building components around the world.

The PPG booth also will host ongoing demonstrations of the digital Architectural Metal Coatings Binder app and new PPG Metal Coatings Online Color Selector Tool. The free Architectural Metal Coatings Binder application, available from the APPLE ITUNES STORE online store, enables building professionals to access fully updated catalogs, product brochures and data sheets for the entire roster of PPG liquid and powder coil and extrusion coatings. It includes color guides and technical documents for PPG metal coatings, along with white papers, case studies and sourcing information for members of the PPG CAP CERTIFIED APPLICATOR PROGRAM group and for PPG-approved extrusion applicators and coil coaters.

The color selector tool features digital versions of all 90 colors in the PPG Architectural Liquid and Powder Coatings Color Guide and each of the 80 colors in the PPG Building Products Coil Coatings Color Guide. Visitors can access large swatches of all 170 extrusion and coil coatings colors – which include the ability to click to full-screen views – and filter searches by color family or brand family including the Duranar, ULTRA-Cool, DURASTAR and Coraflon brands.

PPG also is celebrating a half-century of partnership with Arkema Inc., manufacturers of KYNAR 500 FSF PVDF (fluorosurfactant-free polyvinylidene fluoride) resin.
