Arkema Showcases Coating Resins Technology Depth at ChinaCoat 2012

Arkema Coating Resins is showcasing one of the industry’s broadest technology and business offerings at ChinaCoat 2012, November 28-30. The Arkema booth is located in Hall 10.2, Booth E25-32. On display will be products spanning almost every aspect of coating formulation, including solutions for architectural and industrial coatings, as well as a full range of additives.
“Our goal at ChinaCoat is to introduce our customers, as well as other leaders across the industry, to our broad range of innovations and solutions,” said Wilson Foo, Asia Pacific President for Arkema Coating Resins. “Since the last exhibition, we have significantly expanded our business offering and built a portfolio that rivals any in the industry.”
For example, Arkema Coating Resins recently announced production and shipment of its first commercial emulsion polymer from Changshu, China. This is the result of the collaboration between Arkema Coating Resins and Arkema subsidiary Coatex to expand the Coatex Changshu Additives plant, located on Arkema’s manufacturing complex in Changshu, today Arkema’s largest chemical platform worldwide.
“We are very pleased that the plant has come online as planned,” said Foo. “This is an important step in providing customers local manufacturing and technical support.”
The first Arkema Coating Resins product to ship from the plant is a waterborne emulsion for use in pressure sensitive adhesive applications. Ultimately Arkema Coating Resins will manufacture a full line of products for the Asia Pacific region, including products for use in architectural coatings, industrial coatings, adhesives, building products and other applications.
“Our plan is to continue limited production throughout the remainder of 2012, and be at full production of a comprehensive product line by the end of 2013,” Foo noted.
Throughout the show, Arkema chemists, salespeople and other representatives are meeting with industry leaders and customers to discuss a variety of topics, including architectural coatings, industrial finishes, sustainability and cool roof solutions. In each instance, Arkema will be introducing new and recently launched initiatives based around specific customer needs.
