Axalta Coating Systems has introduced its patented AquaECTM E-Coat products to the automotive industrial paint market in Chongqing and West China through its participation at the 17th China International Surface Finishing, Coating and Electroplating Exhibition held here from April 8 to 10. For the first time, Axalta co-exhibited at the tradeshow with its joint venture partner in China, global supplier of powder coatings Axalta-Huajia Coating, whose coatings are formulated for a high-quality, durable finish, allowing for maximized production, improved efficiencies, and simplified environmental compliance. “The co-participation of Axalta and Axalta-Huajia doubles our strength in presenting a wide range of solutions to suit customer needs focusing on Chongqing, a key automotive manufacturing hub in China where many of our key customers are located,” said Michael Cash, Senior Vice President and President of Industrial Coatings at Axalta. “This tradeshow was an excellent platform to showcase how Axalta’s AquaEC E-Coat solutions backed by more than 40 years of development and research could help customers increase their productivity and, ultimately, their profitability and competitiveness. Our efficient electrocoats and process optimization techniques are enablers that are designed to help customers achieve these key success indicators for now and for their future.” Axalta’s AquaEC line of E-Coat products continue to integrate advanced technologies and processes. E-Coat technology uses epoxy isocyanate technology to provide high-quality anti-corrosion coatings formulated to pass stringent salt spray and other accelerated corrosion tests. Highly efficient ionization techniques enhance the throw power of AquaEC to enable easy and complete application on the most complex of parts, inner or outer chambers, and also high rack density areas that are difficult to reach. Importantly, aligned to Axalta’s sustainability goals, AquaEC E-Coats are water-based, free from harmful heavy metals and low in VOCs. This helps customers to achieve their own sustainability goals and contribute to a cleaner environment in China. Axalta is one of the largest electrocoat producers in the world, supplying E-Coat products to many major light vehicle original equipment manufacturers and a wide range of general industrial customers. The key product which Axalta-Huajia Powder Coating is demonstrating is Alesta. Available globally, Alesta is a high temperature resistant, durable and TGIC-free coating that offers superior corrosion and weather resistance that can be cured at low temperatures. Alesta coatings are available in multiple textures and effects including chromed and other metallic-effects well-suited to automotive and industrial applications. Both color and surface effects can be adjusted easily to meet designers’ needs. Alesta has been widely used in the automotive industry to improve auto part performance from wheel hubs, seats, brakes, engines and wiper blades to cooling systems and power storage. It already has been recognized by major automakers that appreciate Alesta’s superior performance and efficient application. Axalta-Huajia Powder Coating is committed to providing customers with excellent and advanced products for automotive, construction, general industry, functional pipeline, electrical and household appliances, as well as other applications. Axalta has been doing business in China since 1984. This wealth of institutional knowledge has helped Axalta maintain its leadership role for developing cutting edge coating products. In addition to its Jiading waterborne coatings facility in Shanghai, Axalta operates an adjacent plant in Jiading and a plant in Changchun, six Axalta-Huajia Powder Coating operations, four refinish learning and development centers and, in Shanghai, a Global Color Lab and Asia Pacific Innovation Center to support R&D and its Asia Pacific regional headquarters. Axalta’s multiple resources in China work together to support the sustained, long-term growth of China’s automotive, commercial transportation and industrial sectors that use Axalta coatings.
