Sauereisen was recently awarded its second President’s “E Star” Award for Exports – the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
Honors were presented to Sauereisen and 47 other U.S. companies by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on May 23.
Sauereisen is one of only four companies to receive a second President’s “E Star” Award for Exports in the history of the program. Secretary Ross praised Sauereisen for demonstrating “a sustained commitment to export expansion” in a congratulatory letter that was sent to the company."
“The 'E' Awards Committee was very impressed with Sauereisen’s continued growth in exports since receiving the President’s 'E' Award for Exports in 1978 and the President’s 'E Star' Award for Exports in 2010,” Secretary Ross wrote in the letter.
“Your company’s innovative marketing and customized market-entry programs were particularly notable. The committee also recognized your company’s commitment to promoting exports within your community and the Nation. It is fitting that with this record of success, Sauereisen becomes just the fourth company in the 58-year history of this awards program to twice receive the President’s 'E Star' Award. Sauereisen’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs.”
Said Eric Sauereisen, president of Sauereisen: “From our agents in the field to our manufacturing personnel here in Pittsburgh, this award is a tremendous recognition of the dedication and collaboration of our whole team at Sauereisen.
“Sauereisen’s commitment to exporting has always been an integral part of our long-term strategy, as we know that substantial growth in our customer base will come from overseas markets. To help meet these growth objectives, we often rely on our relationships with others, most notably the U.S. Commercial Service.”
