The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), an independent non-profit organization, recently selected Jason McAlpine, Senior Vice President of BASF’s Performance Materials business in North America, to join its 2024 class. The ELC is a global organization comprising more than 800 current and former Black CEOs, corporate board members, senior executives of Fortune 1000 and Global 500 companies, entrepreneurs at top-tier firms and thought leaders. The ELC’s mission is to increase the number of successful Black executives – both domestically and internationally – by adding value to their development, leadership, and philanthropic endeavors through the life cycle of their careers, thereby strengthening their companies, organizations, and communities. “I am honored and humbled to join such an illustrious group as the ELC. Their focus aligns nicely with my DEI passion at BASF and I’m looking forward to working with the members to develop the next generation of black leaders,” said McAlpine. Jason McAlpine leads BASF’s Performance Materials business in North America. This business is at the forefront of the sustainability transformation in plastics. The products are co-created with customers around the globe to bring innovations to four major industry sectors – transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction. McAlpine is the BASF executive sponsor for the Future of STEAM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), a member of BASF’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council and serves on the Board of Visitors at Wayne State University’s College of Engineering. “As the Class of 2024, you embody a fresh wave of vision and promise and represent the power and strength of our collective aspirations. We are proud to call you fellow members and friends,” stated Michael C. Hyter, President and CEO of the Executive Leadership Council. “The success you have achieved and will continue to achieve represents a future filled with limitless possibilities. It is an honor to welcome you and I look forward to the transformative leadership you will bring to share the continued greatness of the ELC.” McAlpine was officially inducted into the ELC on March 7 at the ELC’s winter member meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
