Dubai-based DELTA Coatings International has appointed Nilesh Panchal as its new head of research and development. With more than 13 years’ work experience at Covestro, a key upstream supplier of raw materials to DELTA Coatings, Panchal has already worked on hundreds of successful projects alongside DELTA over the past decade, cementing a strong collaborative relationship. Recognized as one of the top international experts in polymers and CASE elastomers, Panchal will lead new product development and the customization of polyurea-based solutions at DELTA. His efforts will focus on addressing the growing demand for advanced solutions within the major infrastructure projects DELTA undertakes worldwide, as well as expanding its extensive DELTAShield product range. “We are honored to have a qualified chemist with the vast experience of Nilesh join our company,” Paul Symons, sales director at DELTA Coatings, said. “We already have a strong working relationship with him, and it was a natural progression to have him lead our R&D division. With his expertise, Nilesh will head our new laboratory being built in Dubai Industrial City, so it’s perfect timing as Nilesh can put his stamp on this new state-of-the-art facility. “In recent years, we have seen increased awareness of the superior qualities of polyurea-based coating and waterproofing solutions, especially within the architecture and construction sectors, which is driving demand for our DELTAShield products globally,” Symons added. “Additionally, we are seeing more turnkey construction projects for major infrastructure and mega-projects where polyurea-based solutions are being specified. We are delighted to have Nilesh on board to support our growing operations and help meet the needs of our international clients.” Under its DELTAShield range, the company manufactures a range of world-class liquid applied coating solutions backed by multi-year warranties for a range of global clients.
