At this year's American Coatings Show, Birla Carbon is promoting its Raven 1185 surface modified carbon black. Raven 1185 features high jetness and easy dispersion for use in industrial and architectural coatings and premium quality inks.  Raven 1185 is also recommended for food contact and skin contact applications.

Raven 1185 is designed with high structure to aid in faster, more complete dispersion while its surface modification provides the desired viscosity and dispersion stability. Good carbon black dispersion and dispersion stability is very important in achieving the target end use properties in coatings and inks.

"Raven 1185 is made in North America, but it truly is a global product," said Govind Khalsa, global product manager – coatings and inks.

Birla Carbon originally introduced Raven 1185 at CHINACOAT 2015 in Shanghai.
