VersaFlex Inc, a leading formulator and manufacturer of protective coatings, linings, and sealants is proud to announce that it has secured third-party test results on the GelFlex 1115-FR product to ensure antibacterial activity. Recent third party tests conducted under ASTM E2180 on a specially formulated pure polyurea system from VersaFlex, GelFlex 1115-FR, have proven to reduce listeria monocytogenes growth by over 99% and Escherichia coli growth by over 96%. GelFlex 1115-FR is a superior coating material designed specifically for industrial applications that are constantly under attack by microorganisms and harsh chemicals. It provides a high gloss finish that is approved by both the USDA and FSIS. VersaFlex GelFlex 1115-FR is a 100% solids, zero VOC, UV color stable, aliphatic polyurea coating system developed for industrial applications requiring high inhibition of microbial growth. The protective coating is abrasion resistant and has a very fast set/cure time that allows it be returned to service within minutes after application. This makes GelFlex 1115-FR ideal for use in food processing and manufacturing facilities that require fast turnaround and minimal disruption to production. Another major advantage with GelFlex 1115-FR for use in food / hospital environments is its ability to stand up to, and resist, strong oxidizing chemicals such as cleaning solutions commonly and frequently used in these type facilities. GelFlex 1115-FR also boasts an ASTM E84 Fire Rating and is a Class 1 Flame Resistant Approved Material. GelFlex 1115-FR is a volatile free, low odor system, applied at a 1:1 mix ratio with plural component spray equipment. It can be applied at a thickness of 10 to 20 mils in a single application. GelFlex 1115-FR can be applied at temperatures as low as 20°F and is fully functional in exposure environments ranging from -15°F to 140°F.
