The Metropolitan New York Coatings Association (MNYCA) recently held its Fall Technical Forum. The theme of this year’s forum was Current Political, Economic and Regulatory Conditions Impacting the Coatings Industry.

“We are very pleased with the turnout this year. We have more 65 registered attendees and it looks like it is going to be a great session," he noted.
The Forum was comprised of four industry experts who presented their views on state, regional and national coatings industry regulations, as well as what to expect from current and future OSHA regulations and inspections.
“New Jersey Legislative Update” was given by Edward Waters, director of Government Affairs at the Chemistry Council of New Jersey. David Darling, senior director of Environmental Affairs at the American Coatings Association presented “Architectural and Industrial Maintenance (AIM) VOC Regulation Update. “Employees Should Brace for a Big Impact from New OSHA Rules” was presented by Joseph Paranac, an attorney at LECLAIRRYAN. Gordon Johnson, assemblyman commerce committee chairman, New Jersey 37th Legislative District gave a talk on how to attract more industry to New Jersey. All four speakers participated in a Q&A session, followed by a networking session.
