Benjamin Moore revealed its Color of the Year 2020 as First Light 2102-70 – a soft, rosy hue blooming with potential – during a Sept. 7 event at Starlight Modern in Manhattan.
Hundreds of attendees – which included Benjamin Moore retailers, customers and more – greeted the unveiling with loud cheers and applause.
First Light was front and center in a display featuring all 10 of Benjamin Moore's Color Trends 2020 palette.
CEO Dan Calkins briefly addressed the crowd before giving way to Andrea Magno, director of Color Marketing & Development.
"Each year our team embarks on a journey searching for color cues and inspiration," she told the crowd.
While Benjamin Moore color experts look to art, culture, design and fashion for inspiration, the role of home became the focus of the 2020 Color of the Year, Magno explained.
"We selected First Light to represent a new dawn in thinking and living," she said.
