Caparol Arabia recently launched CapaCare Protect, a sustainable and anti-microbial product that protects walls and surfaces from biological pathogens, as part of its efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
According to press reports, CapaCare Protect paint has been tested for its antimicrobial effect; the product uses silver ions to bind and destroy the cell membrane of biological contaminants, including bacteria and viruses. The product is low odor and has zero VOCs.
Upon testing, Caparol reported a kill rate of over 99 percent in the first 24 hours.
“To harmful microbes like bacteria and viruses, silver is their kryptonite,” said Martin Rosocha, managing director, Caparol Arabia. “It damages and destroys them; it helps to defeat them. That’s why we are keen to introduce the new paint for schools, hospitals, hotels and renovation and facility management sectors, to protect their homes and defend the walls.”
