Masco Corporation Announces CEO Succession Plan
Masco Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Jonathon Nudi president and CEO, effective July 7, 2025. Nudi will succeed Allman, who will retire as president and CEO and member of the Board of Directors at that time.
“It has been an honor to serve as Masco’s president and CEO over the past decade,” said Allman. “I am immensely thankful to our employees and proud of the work we’ve done together to build and refine our core portfolio of leading brands, expand our global footprint and deliver strong results for customers and shareholders.

Under his leadership, the company has delivered double-digit EPS compound annual growth and total shareholder returns of approximately 14% compound annual growth over the past decade, and we are confident Masco is well positioned for long-term growth.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this incredible company and look forward to partnering with Keith to ensure a smooth transition,” Nudi said. “I am committed to upholding and building upon Masco’s reputation in the home improvement and building products industries, and I am excited to work closely with the entire Masco team to elevate our portfolio of brands, enhance consumers’ lives and create lasting value for shareholders.”

Nudi most recently served as group president of General Mills’ Pet, International and North America Foodservice segments, the company’s three largest growth areas, where he drove strong net sales, segment operating profit and market share performance. Prior to this, Nudi served as group president, North America Retail (NAR), where he built a strong track record of competitive performance and led large-scale initiatives focused on improving NAR’s growth profile. Prior to leading NAR, Nudi served as president, Europe & Australasia.

The products are sold in the U.S. and Canada through do-it-yourself channels under brands including Behr and Kilz.

In his 2023 letter to shareholders, president and CEO Keith Allman said, “Behr Paint Company continued to focus on maintaining its strong brand leadership in the DIY market through the launch of new products and the expansion of its premium BEHR DYNASTY line—its most stain repellant, scuff-resistant, one-coat-hide paint—to include exterior paint. Attesting to the quality of our products and the strength of our brand, we are pleased to share that a leading consumer publication ranked BEHR DYNASTY number one on its list of most recommended interior paints and, for the first time ever, named BEHR-branded paints as four of the top seven recommendations.”In our Pro business, we are very pleased with our three-year (2021-2023) Pro paint growth of over 60%. This impressive performance demonstrates the quality of our products and growing strength of the BEHR brand with the Pro. We are optimistic about the future and, together with our 40-year partner, The Home Depot, we will continue to strategically invest in this business, expand our services to the professional, and capitalize on the large opportunity in the Pro paint market.”
Behr Paint Company debuts its 2024 Exterior Stain Color of the Year: Tugboat, a delicate blend of brown and gray tones offering a timeless finish with a charming nautical appeal suited to ease into any design style.
The versatile stain color enhances the natural beauty of wood grain, while providing protection on exterior surfaces that will not only elevate the aesthetic of outdoor spaces but stand the test of time.
“Our 2024 Exterior Stain Color of the Year provides a new perspective on color for exterior wood stains, adding both character and freshness to projects,” said Erika Woelfel, vice president of color and creative services at Behr. “With a timeless finish, Tugboat’s versatile brownish gray color provides organic beauty to make any outdoor space feel like a safe harbor.”
Behr’s Exterior Stain Color of the Year headlines the brand’s first-ever Curb Appeal Collection, a curated set of 30 exterior paint, exterior stain, and spray paint colors to support consumer confidence during the color selection process.
Behr’s Exterior Stain Color of the Year and Curb Appeal Collection work in tandem to solve one of consumers’ biggest painting pain points, as many DIYers struggle with color paralysis when selecting hues, particularly for the exterior of their homes. In fact, according to a recent study conducted by Behr Paint, more than half (55%) of homeowners say color selection is the biggest hurdle when it comes to starting a home exterior project and 75% of homeowners look for color inspiration before starting home exterior projects.
Behr Paint Company introduced its first-ever Commercial Color Forecast, a collection of future-focused color palettes inspired by design professionals from some of the nation’s leading architectural firms.
The 2025 Commercial Color Forecast debuted to designers and industry professionals at NeoCon, held in Chicago.
The 2025Commercial Color Forecast – titled “No Clear Boundaries” – includes a palette of five color themes that range from neutral to bold and cool to warm tones that offer endless possibilities in designed spaces. The color collection was curated with the input and insights of emerging and seasoned designers from leading architectural firms across the nation.
The color themes can be used interchangeably for residential and commercial projects in hospitality, workplace, healthcare, multifamily and more.
• Limitless Whites: Barely-there warm whites that pair well with complimentary colors as a tried-and-true foundation for all
designed spaces.
• Bleisure: Familiar mid-tone colors inspired by adventure and reminiscent of natural surroundings that spark joy and optimism.
• Renew-trals: A new take on neutrals with a healing quality and nuanced approach for memorable appeal.
• Grand-Luxe: Classic and modern deep hues that draw captivating quality and alluring glamour to add sophistication and purpose.
• AI-sthetic: Soft and subtle pastels punctuated with unexpected bright accents, provoking dimension and intangible desire to inspire creativity.
Masco reported net sales of $3.428 billion for paints and coatings in 2022. The company produces architectural coatings including paints, primers, specialty paint products, stains and waterproofing products. The products are sold in the U.S. and Canada through do-it-yourself channels under brands including Behr and Kilz.
The company’s high profile Behr products are sold through The Behr Process Corporation to The Home Depot, the segment’s and the company’s largest company.
In his 2022 letter to shareholders, president and CEO Keith Allman said, “Growth in our Decorative Architectural Products segment in 2022 was driven by Behr Paint Company which, for the second consecutive year, achieved a double-digit increase in sales to professional painters. Pro paint sales now account for approximately one third of our paint business – evidence of our continued, solid partnership with The Home Depot and increased trust of the BEHR brand by professionals. In Do-It-Yourself (DIY) paint, despite softened demand, we generated consumer pull with innovations such as BEHR DYNASTY, our most stain-repellant, scuff-resistant, one-coat-hide paint that we have offered. Just in time for the 2023 summer paint season, we plan to launch BEHR DYNASTY Exterior, expanding the lineup of this highly rated paint line. Behr’s recently launched products in adjacent categories—such as aerosols, interior stains, and caulks and sealants— also performed well, and we plan to expand the availability of these offerings in 2023. We will continue to make strategic investments in our paint business to help us capture additional share in both the DIY and Pro markets.”
Behr Paint Celebrates Achievements of Women in Paint
On International Women’s Day, Behr Paint Company announced ‘Women in Paint,’ a program created to highlight the company’s commitment to elevating professional women painters’ voices, celebrating their achievements, and inspiring the next generation.
In partnership with the Painting Contractors Association (PCA), Behr seeks to help grow the presence of women in a male-dominated industry by spotlighting career-journeys and providing educational opportunities and training resources to women through the PCA’s Women in Paint group.
“Women comprise only 10% of the building trades workforce nationally, but this number is on the rise thanks to training programs and diversity and inclusion efforts that encourage more women to enter the skilled trades,” said Jodi Allen, global chief marketing officer at Behr Paint Company. “By partnering with the PCA and spotlighting the stories of professional women painters, we hope to spark conversation around increasing the presence of tradeswomen and learn how we can be a stronger ally to women in the industry.”
“Women are the unsung heroes, movers and shakers, doers and leaders in the painting industry,” said Nigel Costolloe, executive director of PCA. “PCA is proud to partner with Behr on supporting Women in Paint.”
To kick off this commitment, Behr worked with the PCA to produce an episode for its ‘Business Anatomy’ docu-series that highlights four professional women painters’ journeys, capturing both their challenges and successes in the industry:
• Gillian Nielsen, president, Contemporary Surface Solutions, LLC (CSS): After starting her painting career residentially, Nielsen became San Diego’s first commercial painting forewoman and cultivated an expertise in management, project estimating and executive leadership throughout her 30-plus years in the commercial painting industry. Since her start, Nielsen has been determined to break down barriers and pave the way for other women to follow her footsteps through mentoring and employing women painters. CSS is a woman-owned division for specialty finishes and is considered one of San Diego’s top commercial painting contractors.
• Gina Koert, president, Shamrock Painting Inc. (SPI): In addition to having more than two decades of experience with people and project management, Koert served as board director and chair of PCA. For the last year, Koert has served as chair for the PCA Education committee where she laid the groundwork for creating Trade Best Practice and training videos.
• Billie Machain, co-owner/managing partner, Billie’s Painting Solutions: After starting out with stocking duties in a paint store, Machain has served in the industry for 30 years and is now a co-owner of a commercial painting company, specializing in residential projects with her daughter. Their combined experience helps them see the big picture on the job and approach each project with a teamwork mindset.
• Veronica Tucci, co-owner/managing partner, Billie’s Painting Solutions: While studying accounting at school, Tucci began working for a national paint manufacturer in 2008. She climbed the ranks from assistant manager to sales representative and had the opportunity to discover her true passion: helping people achieve their goals. Despite taking brief breaks to try sales and management, she always found her way back to the painting industry where her mom worked. In 2022, Machain and Tucci decided to take a chance and partner together to start their own painting company.
Behr plans to execute on its pledge to women paint contractors by providing in-person training events, helpful resources and educational opportunities in the future.
Masco reported net sales of $3.24 billion for paints and coatings in 2021. The company produces architectural coatings including paints, primers, specialty paint products, stains and waterproofing products. The products are sold in the U.S. and Canada through do-it-yourself channels under brands including Behr and Kilz.
In his 2020 letter to shareholders, president and CEO Keith Allman said, “In our Decorative Architectural Products segment, with our leading brands, Behr and Kilz, and our strong channel partnerships, we capitalized on the resurgence of do-it-yourself (DIY) paint projects, resulting in full-year growth of over 20 percent in this end-user segment. While our pro paint business declined slightly over the prior year, we experienced solid improvement in demand as the year ended. We expect pro paint demand to continue in 2021 as professional contractors increasingly re-enter homes and buildings to serve their customers.
Our builders’ hardware business also benefited in 2020 from increased consumer demand and contributed to the segment’s results by delivering solid growth.”
BEHR Launches COPPER FORCE Interior Paint
Behr Paint Company recently launched BEHR COPPER FORCE Interior Paint, which transforms and expands the role of paint as we know it by affording homeowners, residents, and building occupants peace of mind with an extra layer of protection against bacteria‡ and viruses.† This new product from Behr kills 99.9% of viruses† and bacteria‡ within two hours of exposure on the painted surface, while beautifying walls and other interior surfaces.
BEHR COPPER FORCE paint kills 99.9% of SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that causes COVID-19. Additionally, BEHR COPPER FORCE paint kills 99.9% of other harmful microbes such as Feline calicivirus (FCV), Staphyloccus aureus (Staph), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the bacteria that causes pneumonia in healthcare environments.
Powered by Corning Guardiant antimicrobial copper ion technology, BEHR COPPER FORCE paint continually eliminates viruses† and bacteria‡ on painted surfaces via contact killing. When viruses and bacteria land on the painted surface, the copper ion will destroy the lipid membrane/protein coat/cell membrane, making them non-functional.
BEHR COPPER FORCE is available in more than 2,000 colors from the BEHR color palette exclusively at The Home Depot beginning early May 2022. Initially, it will be available at select stores in New York, New Jersey and Illinois, and ship-to-home will be based on state approvals.
“Our Guardiant technology stabilizes the most bioactive form of copper ions and releases them over time to enable surfaces that are continuously protected from harmful bacteria and viruses,” said Joydeep Lahiri, division vice president and program director, Specialty Surfaces, Corning Incorporated.

Behr Paint Company Announces 2021 Color of the Year
Behr Paint Company announced its 2021 Color of the Year, Canyon Dusk S210-4, an earthy terracotta shade.
The landscape-inspired hue, part of Behr’s Color Trends 2021 palette delivers on what everyone needs this year: Elevated comfort.
Canyon Dusk is a rich, neutral color that creates an atmosphere of grounding warmth. The tawny, raw, earthy hue expresses a unifying desire to find solid footing on life’s journey, metaphorically connecting to the Earth, to re-establish mental and physical balance and provide a fresh start to the new year.
“There is something so reassuring about dusk, the moment just after sunset, which brings the promise of a new day,” said Erika Woelfel, VP of color and creative services at Behr. “The illuminating, free-spirited Canyon Dusk is a color that can be found in a variety of places, from an awe-inspiring desert landscape to the color of sunbaked clay. Wherever it is found, we share a collective need for these moments of comfort and inspiration in the days ahead.”
Canyon Dusk’s neutrality serves as the foundation for an array of design styles, in both residential and commercial environments.
Designers and DIYers can pair the color with jewel tones or pastels, making it a natural fit for modern, casual and traditional styles. Canyon Dusk stands out against the soft and light of Smoky White BWC-13 and dramatic black of Broadway PPU18-20, also from Behr’s Color Trends 2021 Palette, allowing the Color of the Year to make a statement.
Meanwhile, Behr’s Nocturne Blue HDC-CL-28 serves as a rich, complementary hue to Canyon Dusk. Behr’s 2021 Color of the Year also provides a refreshing, new selection for exterior siding, doors and intricate accent features for both homes and commercial spaces.
“From seasoned DIYers to first-time painters, it’s been inspiring to see people, really embracing opportunities to enhance their spaces during this time when we are all in our homes more than ever before,” said Jodi Allen, global chief marketing officer for Behr. “Whether creating an unexpected accent wall or a simple color change, paint can make a huge visual impact, and it’s one of the most affordable and straightforward DIY projects to tackle.”
Masco Corp. reported net sales of $2.08 billion for paint and coatings, comprising 32 percent of total sales for 2019.
In his 2019 letter to shareholders, President and CEO Keith Allman said, “2019 was a dynamic and transformational year for Masco as we solidified our vision for the future.
“In 2019, Masco’s leadership team and Board of Directors made the decision that the best path to create long-term value for its shareholders was to focus its efforts and capital on its higher-margin, less cyclical Plumbing Products and Decorative Architectural Products segments. Masco divested the business units in its Cabinetry Products and Windows and Other Specialty Products segments,” Allman said.
“We initiated our transformative plan and while the preparation, marketing and execution took several months, by November 2019 we had completed the sale of our Windows businesses and in February 2020, we completed the sale of our Cabinetry business,” Allman continued. “Today, Masco consists of two business segments with significant similarities that complement and strengthen each other. Our Plumbing Products and Decorative Architectural Products segments serve common channels and customers where we can leverage our consumer insight and expertise. These segments have similar margins and growth profiles. Both have strong brands and are innovation leaders focused on homeowners and professionals, consumers we know very well. We believe that Masco is now positioned for long-term growth with a high-quality resilient portfolio, industry-leading positions and a strong focus on repair and remodeling…We continued to gain share in the professional and do-it-yourself paint channels through our well- known and respected Behr and Kilz brands. And, importantly, we continued to execute on our capital allocation strategy and deployed over $1.2 billion of capital in 2019 by repurchasing over 20 million shares, reducing our debt by approximately $200 million and increasing our dividend by 12.5 percent. This marks the sixth consecutive year we have increased our dividend.”
“As I look back, I believe we have effectively navigated significant challenges while making Masco a better company for the long term,” Allman said. “Our businesses are performing well, and the Masco Operating System is building a winning organization with continued cross-business unit leverage of our brands, people and best practices. And, importantly, our employees across the globe are focused on delivering better living possibilities for themselves, our consumers, our shareholders and the communities where they live and work.
Behr Launches Eco-Friendly Simple Pour Lid
Behr Paint recently launched a reimagined paint can is hitting shelves to make the painting process simpler and cleaner than ever before – no paint key or tools required to open the container.
Also, Behr’s new, 100 percent recyclable design features a first-of-its-kind Simple Pour plastic lid that eliminates mess and rust and keeps paint fresher longer.
“The current gallon paint can was long overdue for innovation,” said Jodi Allen, chief marketing officer at Behr. “We’ve spent years experimenting to perfect this new design, making sure this revolutionary new can is both environmentally responsible and effective in alleviating common pain points in the painting process. This new design will ensure do-it-yourselfers and pros alike can easily use and preserve Behr’s high-quality products.”
Traditional paint lids require a paint key or screwdriver to open, and a mallet or hammer to close—both of which can damage the metal can and spoil paint saved for reuse or touchups by exposing it to air.
Behr’s newly reimagined paint cans will be sold with a complimentary, washable, 100 percent recyclable plastic pour spout that snaps onto a 70mm opening on the top of the lid, which can be re-sealed with a simple twist-off cap. For those who prefer to dip their brush directly in the can while painting, the new lid can be removed the traditional way as well.
Masco Corp. reported net sales of $1.8 billion for paint and coatings, representing 32 percent of total net sales for Masco. The company produces architectural coatings including paints, primers, specialty paint products, stains and waterproofing products. The products are sold in the U.S. and Canada through do-it-yourself channels under brands including Behr and Kilz. The firm’s high profile Behr products are sold through The Behr Process Corporation to The Home Depot, the segment’s and the company’s largest company.
“We are pleased with our 2018 results,” Masco’s President and CEO Keith Allman said in the company’s Annual Report. “The macroeconomic fundamentals remain supportive of Masco’s long-term growth. The age of housing stock, demographics, GDP, unemployment rates and consumer confidence point to a favorable repair and remodel market. We believe these fundamentals, combined with our focus on continuous improvement through deployment of our Masco Operating System and talent development initiatives, position Masco for profitable growth and continued value creation for our stakeholders.”
Behr Paint Company’s Premium Quick-Dry Oil-Based Wood Finish, which provides rain-resistant coverage in a unique formula that dries just one hour after application, was a finalist for The Home Depot’s 2018 Innovation Awards.
Masco Corp. reported net sales of $2.2 billion, representing 29 percent of total net sales for Masco.
“In 2017, we significantly expanded our BEHR business to the professional painter, which resulted in double-digit increases in pro paint sales,” Keith Allman, president and CEO of Masco stated in the company’s annual report. “Partnering with The Home Depot, we also identified ways to ‘win with engagement’ in the do-it-yourself (DIY) aisle by offering higher levels of customer service and converting more shoppers to buyers. Liberty Hardware also implemented a ‘customer first’ approach with its new shower door program – marketed under the Delta brand – that allows homeowners to customize their shower door hardware to match other accessories in their bathroom. This program is just one example of how we are leveraging opportunities across our portfolio to increase sales and better serve our customers.”
Behr Paint Reveals 2018 Color of the Year, “In The Moment,” at Pop-Up Trend Home in New York City
Behr Paint announced its first-ever Color of the Year: In The Moment T18-15, a restorative blue-green hue honoring nature to create a soothing atmosphere. Versatile and welcoming, this grounding neutral is a serene backdrop to spaces where you unwind and recharge.
“In The Moment speaks to our society’s desire to disconnect and be present,” said Erika Woelfel, vice president of color and creative services at Behr. “Spruce blue, soft gray and lush green coalesce into a fresh shade that evokes a sense of sanctuary and relaxation amid our always-on lives. In The Moment crosses multiple design styles—global, coastal, modern—and pairs well with other subdued colors to create harmony for interiors or exteriors.”
The BEHR 2018 Color of the Year is introduced alongside the annual BEHR 2018 Color Trends palette, a spectrum of 20 hues forecasted to influence décor and design in the year ahead. The new palette captures the ever-evolving perception of “home,” which was brought to life in New York City with an experiential BEHR Pop-Up Trend Home in the iconic Grand Central Terminal.
BEHR Pop-Up Trend Home Puts 2018 Color Trends Palette on Dynamic Display
Installed in one of the city’s busiest transportations hubs, the immersive Pop-Up Trend Home offers a true expression of color through a full sensory experience. Its placement in Grand Central Terminal serves as a welcomed respite for commuters to pause, be present and find calm through color. Each room is intentionally designed so that attendees can feel the emotion of the palette, evoking the mood and feeling DIYers can create when designing their own rooms.
“We know color and design decisions can be overwhelming. That’s why we’re celebrating the release of our 2018 Color of the Year with a completely different approach,” said Jodi Allen, chief marketing officer at Behr. “We’re introducing this unique color experience to New Yorkers mid-commute to show how the intentional use of fresh, tranquil color in the home can serve as an antidote to a stressful day and turn any space into your personal sanctuary.”
Passersby were able to stop by New York City’s Grand Central Terminal to see the home for themselves and engage with Behr color experts about upcoming DIY projects and color advice. Guests also had the opportunity to explore color through virtual reality with an immersive, 360° VR color experience video. VR headsets were available for use at the event, and the first 5,000 attendees walked away with a custom BEHR 2018 Color Trends VR experience cardboard headset.
New Hues to Inspire and Restore
People desire a personal and meaningful connection to their homes and surroundings. With In the Moment and the 2018 Color Trends palette, Behr welcomes people to practice mindfulness at home by being attentive to simplicity, curation and the intentional use of color to enhance the energy of a space. The 20 new colors serve as a catalyst to rejuvenate the spirit, inspire joy, restore balance and stimulate an overall sense of well-being. The 2018 Color Trends palette ranges from warm neutrals to daring reds and oranges.
Masco Corp. reported net sales of $2.1 billion, representing 28 percent of total net sales for Masco.
Each year, the team of color experts at Behr immerse themselves in an extensive process to curate the latest hues by examining trends in art, product design, fashion and architecture. This forecast, paired with the modern ways in which people live, results in the development of the BEHR Color Currents, an all-new collection of on-trend paint colors. The 20 distinct hues of 2017 are available now at The Home Depot, along with an exclusive in-store brochure that inspires consumers to incorporate the hues into both their indoor and outdoor living spaces.
Behr takes a non-traditional approach to color forecasting. Instead of choosing just one dominant color of the year, its team of experts create a collection of hues that are curated into separate themes, empowering individuals to choose colors and color combinations that speak to their moods, emotions and personalities. For 2017, the colors center around three overarching lifestyle themes: Comfortable, Composed and Confident.
