Headquartered in Girona, Spain, Briolf Group S.L. had a strong year in 2024. The company has seven production centers, five R&D facilities and 1,176 employees globally. Briolf distributes its products in more than 120 countries.

Briolf closed the 2024 fiscal year with revenues exceeding €260 million ($285 million), representing a 6% increase compared to 2023, when the figure was around €245 million. With this result, the company has achieved 10 consecutive years of positive growth and consolidates its exponential evolution through a clear and sustained strategy.

This strategy is based on five fundamental pillars: i) diversification, to strengthen its solidity and expand capabilities and product offerings in increasingly demanding markets; ii) operational excellence, aiming to gain efficiency and quality in all processes; iii) internationalization, extending its presence and operations on a global scale; iv) innovation, developing cutting-edge solutions adapted to the new market needs; and v) intensification, optimizing resources and processes to ensure sustainable growth.

“These are excellent results, especially considering the challenges faced in 2024: inflation, geopolitical tensions, fluctuations in logistics costs,” said Xavier Sagué, Briolf’s managing director. “We continue building a solid track record of growth, and the forecasts for 2025 are excellent: we expect to close the year reaching approximately €294 million in revenue, which would represent an increase close to 12%.”

Since 2014, Briolf has driven a phase of sustained growth through strategic acquisitions that have allowed it to access new sectors, technologies, and key geographies. Currently, the group is structured into three business divisions that combine specialization, innovation, and a strong international focus:

• Coatings, where it all began in 1968 with the founding of Roberlo, specialized in repainting solutions for vehicle repair. This division has expanded in recent years to also include coatings for general industry, automotive OEM, and packaging, and was strengthened with the addition of Cromaresme in 2017.

• Aerosols, with a diversified focus covering products for street art, decoration, DIY, and industrial use. This division was consolidated with the acquisition of Montana Colors in 2018, a global leader in street art, and Areco in 2022.

• Bonding, focused on adhesive and fillers solutions for sectors such as construction, wood, marble and stone, as well as composites. It started with the purchase of Chemfix in 2014 and has recently expanded with the addition of Impacar (2022) and Intec (2023).

All these advances represent a further step towards achieving its 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, which aims to achieve revenues of €300 million by 2026.

To achieve this, Briolf will continue working in line with the same strategic pillars developed over recent years, with special focus on reversing trends in some recently restructured or newly incorporated commercial subsidiaries to increase their potential and results, enhancing synergies between different product lines, brands, and businesses in each country, innovating and continuing to invest in launching and developing new high-value products and solutions; as well as continuing its global expansion through the creation of new commercial subsidiaries and maintaining accelerated, profitable growth while balancing country risk. It will achieve all of this while keeping its essence intact: a personal approach, long-term partnerships, and trust in its people.

Sales: 269.5 Million

Markets Served: Automotive refinish coatings, Industrial coatings, Plastic and glass coatings, Aerosols fine arts and industrial

Briolf Group S.L. had an excellent year in 2023, with sales jumping more than 30% to $269.5 million. This growth was driven by a number of factors, beginning with extremely strong growth rates in US and Mexico in both car refinish and industrial coatings. In addition, the industrial coatings division of Roberlo continued its strong performance, growing more than 30%. The company also made a strategic entry in high-value markets such as composite materials through the acquisition of the Italian company Intec srl.

In a significant move, Briolf announced plans for its first production plant in the United States, to be located in North Carolina.

“This is a historic event for us, both qualitatively and quantitatively,” said Jaume Juher, president of Briolf Group. “Having a production center in the U.S. allows us to directly serve the current important market in the North American region. And at the same time, it positions us better to face the many opportunities for growth that the North American market offers us.”

In a significant move, Briolf opened Roberlo Korea, its first subsidiary in Asia, as well as new subsidiaries in Colombia and Australia. Briolf also took an important step forward in the OEM automotive market with several new projects with relevant European players. Despite the negative general trend for decorative coatings, the companies of Briolf’s Aerosol division had a positive trend, both growing compared to 2022, with water-based aerosol technology providing a strong performance. Briolf officials noted the strong position of Chemfix in the market of chemical anchoring manufacturers, with sales growing almost 30%.

Briolf has implemented its strategic plan 2022-2026, which is based on five main pillars to face the key trends of the industry. These include increasing its level of product diversification both geographically and product-wise; expanding activities (production and distribution) in more markets with more companies and subsidiaries; maximizing synergies and taking advantage of market opportunities; promoting innovation at all levels of the organization; and operational excellence.
