It remains a family-owned business, with eight manufacturing facilities, approximately 1,500 employees and sales in more than 100 countries worldwide. Through Mipa Direkt GmbH, customers can buy Mipa paints directly from company stores.
MIPA has been active on the acquisition front during the past 12 months. In June 2022, MIPA SE acquired Süddeutsches Lackwerk Zelle GmbH & Co. KG, Feldkirchen, Germany. Founded in 1922, Süddeutsches Lackwerk manufactures industrial coatings, high-temperature paints and functional coatings, most notably the Wetterwart brand.
In October 2022, MIPA SEE announced it had acquired Warnecke & Böhm GmbH, with plans to maintain the WB Coatings brand.
“The traditional WB Coatings brand will definitely be retained after the takeover,” said Markus Fritzsche, managing director of MIPA SE, in announcing the move. “Customers will be offered the usual product range and will continue to receive support from a specialized industrial coatings manufacturer in Bavaria.”
In January 2023, Streicolor AG, Frauenfeld, Switzerland, which had been part of the Mipa Group since 2003, was renamed Mipa Coatings Schweiz AG.
