Valspar, the nation’s most widely distributed paint brand, has completed a multi-year reformulation initiative that’s yielded a comprehensive line of high-performing, zero-VOC products. Noticeably absent from the lineup are Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), chemicals that can impact indoor air quality. Each product has earned GREENGUARD Gold Certification, validating that they meet very rigorous indoor clean air standards, while maintaining the highest standards for durability, performance and color consistency. Available exclusively at Lowe’s, the assortment represents the industry’s only full lineup of zero-VOC interior paints across all price points to be sold at any home improvement retailer in the country, offering consumers a product that’s right for their walls, their wallets and their families. Valspar currently offers four zero-VOC interior paints at Lowe’s: Reserve, Signature, Ultra 2000 and Ultra 4000. Valspar Reserve has been VOC free since launching more than two years ago; the Valspar Ultra series was re-launched last year as zero-VOC; and Valspar Signature is the most recent beneficiary of a new formulation, which also delivers better performance and durability than the previous formula. Regardless of the customer’s color choice, from the palest to the deepest hue, all tints used to color the zero-VOC base paints are free of VOCs themselves. “It’s a new era for interior paint, as Valspar brings a smarter, sustainable formulation to market without sacrificing the unparalleled premium performance and color confidence our customers demand,” said Heidi Petz, vice president marketing, Valspar. “Typically, paint performance is defined by durability and color accuracy, and these zero-VOC paints exceedingly measure up to these essential qualities. What’s more, the range of options we offer covers the needs for residential as well as commercial properties, including offices, schools and healthcare facilities.” “Valspar’s zero-VOC lineup delivers an exciting new innovation in paint: one that helps us all breathe a little easier without compromising Valspar’s long-standing reputation for great performance,” said Robin Bornkamp, Lowe’s merchandising vice president for paint. “Responsible product choices benefit our communities and the environment, and we are thrilled to add Valspar paint to Lowe’s roster of greener product choices consumers can make when tackling their next home improvement project.” Valspar Reserve In a competitive category, Reserve has been a consistent standout since its introduction. For the second consecutive year, in testing by a leading consumer magazine, Reserve ranks No. 1 in performance among zero-VOC paints. It is an all-in-one paint and primer, a single-coat application that’s a time-saver for today’s busy lifestyles, plus exceptionally stain and scrub resistant, which adds to its value for even the most active households. It is available in flat, eggshell, satin and semi-gloss sheens. Suggested retail starts at $42 per gallon. Valspar Signature This newly improved high-hiding paint and primer and assures smooth coverage and finish. It is fade resistant and distinguished by Valspar’s Scuff Shield Technology, which protects against scuffs and stains. Valspar Signature is available in flat, eggshell, satin and semi-gloss sheens. Suggested retail starts at $31.98 per gallon. Valspar Ultra 2000 A professional grade go-to workhorse, Valspar Ultra 2000 offers a high-performance latex coating with excellent touch-up, best-in-class durability, and superior hide and coverage. It is an ideal choice for residential repaint and renovation, as well as for new construction. Whether sprayed, brushed or rolled, the paint’s excellent flow and leveling properties provide a smooth, uniform finish that’s also durable. Ultra 2000 is available in flat, eggshell, and semi-gloss, starting at $18.97 per gallon. Valspar Ultra 4000 Recommended for commercial maintenance and new construction segments, it provides excellent hide and coverage, durability and touch up. It applies easily when sprayed, brushed or rolled. Ultra 4000 is offered in flat, eggshell and semi-gloss, starting at $15.97 per gallon.
