BASF starts up Shanghai amino resins plant

BASF has started commercial production of its amino resins located at BASF Auxiliary Chemicals Company in Pudong, Shanghai, China. BASF’s amino resins are marketed under the trademark Luwipal. Applications are in baking finishes, acid-curable paint and physically drying paint. They are mainly used in combination with various binders to produce particularly hard, glossy coatings that are stable to weathering, yellowing and chemicals. Luwipal 066 is mainly used in coil and can coatings and Luwipal 072 is mostly used for automotive applications.
