Clariant To Sell PVA/PVB Business to Kuraray l Clariant plans to sell its polyvinyl alcohol/butyral (PVA/PVB) business—and its Mowiol and Mowital brands—to Kuraray, Osaka, Japan. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The 250 employees of the Höchst/Sulzbach, Germany-based operation will be taken over and employed by Kuraray, according to Clariant. By acquiring Clariant’s PVA/PVB business, Kuraray, which has production plants in Japan and Singapore, will expand its market presence in Europe.
