Dow increases prices,
moves to monthly pricing
Dow Chemical Co. has increased the selling price of many of its solvents and organic intermediates for Europe and the Middle East. Among the products that will be increased are butanol, 2-ethylhexoic acid, isobutanol, isopropanol, propanol, propionic acid and n-butyl acetate.
In addition, Dow’s solvents and intermediates business has moved to regular monthly pricing adjustments across its entire product portfolio. According to Dow, the company buys raw materials that are priced on a daily basis and can no longer offer quarterly pricing to non-contract customers. Where contracts are in place, price adjustments will occur through specific terms in the agreement. For non-contract customers, Dow will move to monthly pricing and will announce any increases at least 15 days prior to the beginning of the month in which the new pricing will take effect.
