Surface Protection Business ● DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise has acquired the fluorotelomer surface protection and specialty surfactants business assets of TotalFinaElf. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. DuPont manufactures and markets surface protection finishes and specialty surfactants under Teflon and Zonyl brands. TotalFinaElf manufactures and markets surface protection products under the Forafac and Foraperle brands. “We see this acquisition as an excellent opportunity to further enhance services to our customers and to strengthen our manufacturing and technical service presence in Europe,” said William Weber, global business manager, DuPont Surface Protection Solutions. “This addition to our surface protection solutions business will complement our existing position in carpet and textile protection by adding strengths in paper, leather protectants and fire-fighting foams.”
