Wacker-Chemie GmbH Realigns Organization Effective January 1, Wacker-Chemie GmbH is realigning its organization into five independent business divisions. The goal is to make better use of the existing market and technology opportunities for chemicals and to develop new growth sectors, according to the company. As part of the changes, Wacker Specialties will be split into two business divisions and Wacker’s construction sector polymer activities and its functional polymers business will be combined to form Wacker Polymers. The Wacker Silicones business division will encompass silicone fluids, emulsions, elastomers, resins, silanes and fumed silica, with Christoph von Plotho serving as president. Arno von der Eltz will serve as president of the Wacker Polymers business division, which will focus on redispersible powders, construction dispersions, powder binders, solid resins based on vinyl acetate polymers, polyvinyl butyrals and vinyl chloride polymers.
