H.B. Fuller Company is a global manufacturer and marketer of adhesives and other specialty chemical products. The company is managed through four regional operating segments in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. The largest business component in each of the regional segments is adhesives. H.B. Fuller posted sales of $2.04 billion in 2015.
The company recently made a number of acquisitions. H.B. Fuller Company has finalized the previously announced purchase of Advanced Adhesives, a provider of industrial adhesives in Australia and New Zealand.
Serving a wide range of industries, including consumer packaged goods, woodworking and product assembly applications, the Advanced Adhesives business generated approximately $17 million in revenue for the 2015 fiscal year. Based in Sydney and Auckland, this new business will be included in H.B. Fuller’s Asia Pacific operating segment.
H.B. Fuller Company has also signed an agreement to purchase Cyberbond, L.L.C., a global provider of a global provider of industrial adhesives for the electronics, medical, audio equipment, automotive and structural markets.
Founded in 1997, Cyberbond is headquartered in Batavia, Illinois, with European operations based in Wunstorf, Germany. The company generated revenue of approximately $15 million in fiscal 2015 and will be included in H.B. Fuller’s Engineering Adhesives operating segment.

The addition of this business supports H.B. Fuller’s growth strategy for emerging markets, as it will enable the company to fully leverage its broad-based technology portfolio and effectively deliver specialty adhesive products to key customers in East and Central Africa.
The Continental business generated approximately €2.3 million in revenue for the 2014 fiscal year. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Continental will be included in H.B. Fuller’s Europe, India, Middle East, Africa (EIMEA) operating segment.
The company has also finalized the previously announced purchase of TONSAN Adhesive, Inc., the largest independent engineering adhesives provider in China. TONSAN generated approximately $100 million in revenue in 2014. H.B. Fuller has acquired 95 percent of the equity of TONSAN for cash consideration of Rmb 1. billion, or about $225 million. The results of this business will be included in H.B. Fuller’s Asia Pacific operating segment going forward.

“We are pleased with our 2013 financial results which demonstrate solid operational improvement and another step towards our 2015 targets,” Jim Owens, H. B. Fuller president and chief executive officer stated in its end of year report. “In the midst of a major business integration and weaker than expected end-market conditions in some key markets, our team delivered solid results. We delivered record revenue and grew organically for the fourth year in a row with stronger organic growth at the end of the year.”
The company recently opened a new $10 million manufacturing facility to support the expansion of its business in the Andean Region of South America. The plant is located in Rionegro, approximately 36 kilometers east of Medellin, Colombia.
H.B. Fuller has had a strong presence in the Andean Region’s adhesives market, operating from a manufacturing facility in Itagui before moving to its new plant in Rionegro. The new site will provide increased production capacity, a new technical laboratory for hygienic products and better access to the country’s second largest airport. The Rionegro facility will supply hot melt and water-based adhesive technologies for the hygienic, packaging and corrugate and assembly markets. In addition to production, the facility houses administrative offices, labs, and receiving and dispatching.Rionegro is the most recent example of how H.B. Fuller is investing in its capabilities globally. In the past few years, the company has built manufacturing facilities in Nanjing, China, and Pune, India.
