For Kayalar Kimya, 2026 marks an important milestone as the architectural coatings specialist celebrates the 50th anniversary of its official foundation on January 11, 1976. Over the past five decades, the privately-owned company has grown into a well-established player in the coatings and chemicals industry, with a strong focus on innovation, manufacturing, and international growth.
During 50 years, Kayalar Kimya has been developing products for the easy application, superior performance, and long-lasting durability demanded by professionals across the furniture and construction industries.
Kayalar Kimya operates with a broad product portfolio and production facilities in two locations in Türkiye. Furniture paints and varnishes, water-based exterior wood coatings, decorative paints, industrial coatings, resins and raw materials are manufactured in Tuzla, while binders, adhesives, coolants, screen washers, thinners and other products are produced in Gebze.
Kayalar Kimya exports to 55 countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa and is among Europe’s major manufacturers of furniture paints and varnishes. The company has 425 employees.
The company manages several strong brands under its umbrella. Genç is a market leader in furniture paints and varnishes, Düfa stands out in the decorative paints segment with its “Master of Paint” positioning, and Woodsol offers water-based exterior wood protection systems designed to extend the service life of wood surfaces with minimal maintenance. In addition, Genç Noroo, established through a partnership with South Korea’s Noroo Paint in 2012, represents an important international collaboration that strengthens the company’s technological capabilities. Kayalar Adhesives offers a wide range of adhesive solutions across multiple industries.
Kayalar Kimya’s performance has also been recognized with industry awards. The company ranked third in the “Paints, Varnishes and Inks Export” category at the “Stars of Export” awards organized by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (İKMİB).
In 2025, the company further strengthened its portfolio through a strategic partnership with Mirka, a global leader in surface finishing, and sole authorized distributor of DUPLI-COLOR, a leading spray paint brand, in the Turkish market.
In line with global trends in the coatings industry, Kayalar Kimya continues to invest in sustainable technologies, water-based products, and advanced surface solutions.
“Over the past 50 years, Kayalar Kimya has grown into a global industrial force,” said Ersin Kenan Kayalar, chairperson of the board and CEO of Kayalar Kimya. “Present in more than 55 countries, with an annual production capacity of 142,000 tons and a portfolio of 3,000 product varieties, we compete at scale in the furniture coatings market and we have built that position deliberately.
“In 2011, Kayalar Kimya became the first company in Türkiye’s furniture sector to receive the official R&D Center designation,” added Kayalr. “That milestone was not a credential to display; it was a signal of how we choose to compete. Research, formulation capability, and deep technical support have been at the core of our offering ever since, and they remain our primary source of competitive advantage today.
“Being ranked 74th on the Coatings World Top Companies list in 2025 reflects where we stand internationally. Looking ahead, our priorities are clear: expanding our high-performance and environmentally compliant product range, strengthening our digital manufacturing infrastructure, and building deeper technical partnerships with our global customer base.
“On sustainability, we move with measurable commitment,” Kayular added. “In 2025, we signed the investment agreement for a 6 MWp solar power plant in Elazığ; once operational, it will generate approximately 9.753.740 kWh of renewable electricity annually, covering our entire production facilities’ energy demand from renewable sources. We treat carbon reduction as a target to be tracked, not a value to be stated. The next fifty years of Kayalar Kimya will move faster than the first. We are ready for that.”
