Andreas Kreimeyer, member of the board of executive directors of BASF AG has been named chairman of the supervisory board of BASF Coatings AG. He succeeds Klaus Peter Löbbe who will resign from the supervisory board. Kurt Bock, CFO of BASF will also join the board as a new member.
These changes in the supervisory board are the result of the redistribution of responsibilities in the board of executive directors of BASF AG. Löbbe’s responsibilities will now extend to the North America region and Krei-meyer’s responsibilities in BASF’s board will encompass BASF’s performance products, which includes the coatings, performance chemicals and functional polymers divisions.
Effective July 1, Raimer Jahn will be president and CEO of BASF’s coatings division. In both positions, Jahn will succeed Jean-Pierre Monteny who will retire June 30.
Mutsuo Aoki has been named head of BASF’s coatings business in Asia-Pacific. Aoki also holds the position of president, BASF Coatings Japan Ltd., Tokyo. Aoki’s predecessor, Manfred Schmales, worked in Asia for BASF Coatings for seven years and is now the head of the company’s global product management OEM in Münster.
Thomas Hoenle has been named business director for BASF’s automotive OEM coatings tier accounts in North America. In this new position, Hoenle will be responsible for all aspects of BASF’s coatings business with tier suppliers to the automotive industry, and with the company’s heavy truck and bus accounts in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. Prior to this appointment, Hoenle was business director, BASF industrial coatings solutions business for North America.
