Axalta Coating Systems was a sponsor and presenter at the recent Future of Coatings Under Study (FOCUS) conference in Detroit.
The annual FOCUS conference is presented by The Detroit Society for Coatings Technologies, an automotive coatings industry group. The international conference celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Award-winning journalist, broadcaster, analyst, and lecturer John McElroy was this year’s keynote speaker. His keynote address titled, Get Ready to Rumble, How the Auto Industry is about to Change Forever, spoke to this time of “unrelenting change” challenges and opportunities in the automotive industry.
“The FOCUS conference should be commended for bringing the industry together to discuss priorities and concerns that are unique to the automotive industry,” said Matt Boland, Axalta Coating Systems Product Director. “Axalta has been a long-time supporter of the conference, and we value the mix of leading experts, innovative ideas and well-regarded networking.” Boland served as morning moderator for the conference.
Scientists from Axalta’s Mount Clemens, Michigan manufacturing facility discussed semi-empirical methods to assess co-solvent evaporation from waterborne films.
