Sika Automotive is proud to be the headline sponsor, a presenter and an exhibitor at the Global Automotive Lightweight Materials Detroit 2016 Conference, being held on August 23 - 25, 2016 at COBO Center, Detroit, Michigan. The event will feature Sika’s North American Research Scientist for Body-in-White Bulk, Dr. Christian Eyholzer, as a speaker at this global automotive event.
Sika Automotive will feature its vehicle lightweighting technologies including SikaPower, SikaForce and Sikaflex for lightweight material and mixed-material bonding; SikaReinforcer and Sika High Strength Bonding structural inserts for body structural reinforcements and acoustical technologies; as well as SikaBaffle and SikaDamp for noise control in lightweight and conventional vehicles.
Dr. Eyholzer will speak on the topic of composites and mixed-material bonding, “Enabling Vehicle Architectures With Composite And Mixed-Materials Using Innovative Bonding Technologies”. He will be presenting a survey of different lightweight vehicle architectures with a review of the bonding, sealing and reinforcing technologies for enabling these constructions. Dr. Eyholzer will also discuss key development characteristics of structural and semi-structural adhesive solutions for composite and mixed-material bonding, while giving insight into the application of structural adhesive on a production vehicle with CFRP-Aluminum-Steel construction. The presentation is scheduled for August 23rd starting at 2:40 PM with a Question & Answer Session following at 3:00 PM.
The Global Automotive Lightweight Materials Detroit 2016 Conference is the premier global technical event dedicated to automotive lightweighting. It is part of the Global Automotive Lightweight Materials congress held annually in Asia, Europe and North America. This year’s conference focuses on advanced joining, forming and design of composites and lightweight metals.
