BASF employees helped local students kick off the new school year by donating supplies to the Wyandotte School District. The donations are part of BASF’s continuous effort to support the community.
Members of the BASF ALLchemie employee group, which sponsored the Tools for Schools drive, delivered hundreds of items ranging from backpacks to calculators to the Wyandotte Board of Education. BASF employees also contributed $900 in monetary donations.
“Just this week, I’ve had social workers wondering how some children would get their needed school supplies,” said Dr. Catherine Cost, Superintendent of Wyandotte Public Schools. “For example, we had a parent who was diagnosed with cancer and can no longer work. It helps in so many ways. I can’t thank BASF enough for their continued support of the Wyandotte Public Schools.”
“BASF provides students with the necessary tools for success for the upcoming year,” said Greg Pflum, Vice President and General Manager of the BASF Midwest Hub. “We look forward to helping the students and communities in which we operate.”
