Effective March 1, 2020, Brenntag Canada will be the primary distributor in Canada for all Arkema waterborne resins sold under the ENCOR, CELOCOR, SNAP and NEOCAR trade names, Arkema announced.
These resins are used to formulate products across multiple industries, including architectural and industrial coatings, adhesives, caulks and sealants, construction products, traffic markings and others.
“Brenntag’s ability to market, deliver and support products in industries where technical expertise is required was a defining factor in making this decision,” said Kenny Messer, regional president for Arkema’s coating resins business in North America. The company "has the resources and expertise needed to help our customers get the most from their waterborne resin products.”
This transition follows a similar decision to partner with Brenntag in the US in 2019. Arkema looked at Brenntag’s regional capabilities and technical resources. With regional application labs and technically focused sellers, Brenntag offers the resources needed to help formulators develop products to existing specifications and support future needs for counsel and partnership.
Related to this announcement, effective Jan. 1, 2020, Univar Solutions (previously Nexeo Solutions) is no longer an authorized distributor for these products. Arkema and Brenntag are working directly with customers to ensure a smooth transfer of accounts to new representatives.
“We do not anticipate any delays or other concerns as customers transition to working with Brenntag,” Messer said. “We are working closely with everyone involved to ensure they receive the optimal products and support for their specific formulation and business needs.”
