The department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials at North Dakota State University announces dates for its 2023 short courses. The highly popular Coatings Science short course will be held June 4-9 and the completely revised Corrosion Prevention by Coatings short course will be held June 12-14. Both courses will be in-person on the Fargo campus. The Coatings Science short course provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of coatings science including resin chemistry, solvents, pigments, additives, evaluation of performance, rheology, durability, and corrosion protection. The Corrosion Prevention by Coatings course is a practical guide to the basics of corrosion science and engineering, how to characterize corrosion, and practical techniques and strategies on coating/material design and formulation for corrosion performance.
