Bodo Möller Chemie is expanding its portfolio in the CASE sector (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) through its collaboration with CABB, a dianhydride specialist. Materials used to manufacture epoxy and polyimide formulas have been included in the Offenbach-based company’s portfolio since June 2023.
Bodo Möller Chemie and CABB are entering into a partnership to expand European business with specialty dianhydrides. The CABB Group is a world-leading company which develops and manufactures high-performance dianhydrides, active ingredients, and superior intermediate goods.
Dianhydrides such as BTDA (3,3',4,4'-Benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride) are used as hardeners (curing agents) for epoxy resins or as comonomers for polyimides to produce polymers with exceptional thermo-mechanical and electrical insulation properties.
“CABB is the only manufacturer worldwide which produces this molecule on an industrial scale. Bodo Möller Chemie is thus also the only sales channel for the molecule in Europe,” said Volker Oehl, director for business development at Bodo Möller Chemie. CABB’s special dianhydrides are used in products such as adhesives, coatings, including powder coatings, composites, casting materials, and dielectric films for electronic applications.
“As a result of the partnership with Bodo Möller Chemie, our clients in Europe will benefit from extensive know-how and insightful technical consultations,” said Dr. Christian Schulz, head of sales for specialty and performance chemicals at CABB.
