BASF Corporation announced that the application process is now open for TECH Academy, a week-long summer program designed for high school juniors and seniors in southeast Michigan who are interested in pursuing skill trade careers. Taking place from June 17 to June 21, 2024 in the Metro Detroit Downriver community, this program offers an exceptional opportunity for students to gain firsthand knowledge about various skill trade careers and the training required for these roles, including manufacturing, welding, auto, healthcare, and first responders.
"BASF's TECH Academy provides an exclusive platform for teens to interact with professionals in our community and explore the world of skilled trades,” said Joe Dellamorte, BASF Site Manager in Wyandotte. “We hope this program opens up new pathways for students to consider technical career options beyond the traditional four-year degree program."
TECH Academy is fully funded by BASF in alignment with the company's commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) education and workforce development. This program aims to equip students with valuable knowledge while fostering their interest in pursuing careers in the skilled trades sector. As space is limited, interested students are encouraged to submit their applications by April 12, 2024 at this link. For any inquiries regarding the program, please contact marika.diamond@basf.com.
