At our Allentown, PA site, we are currently looking for a Chemist.
The Chemist supports strategic customer accounts in the caulks and sealants segment, including joint end use commercial product development, aiding product selection and dispersion handling and processing, introducing new product and application technology, and troubleshooting any product/process related issues experienced in commercial production.
The Chemist will support and, in certain cases, drive new product development based on market information and knowledge. This includes acting as a liaison between research organization and customer or end user needs for development of new or existing commercial products.

Your Tasks:
- Technical liaison to customer
- Manage the relationship, along with account/sales representative
- Insure the appropriate dispersion product is recommended and correctly used in the customer's process to meet end use application needs
- Drive VAE conversion in the caulks and sealants market - new or customer-driven - to meet customer, end use, and/or general market needs
- Provide technical expertise to customers related to caulks and sealants, including product knowledge and recommendations, introduction to new technology, and aiding in solving customer problems
- Maintain strong safety focus for self and direct reports supporting the broader safety organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- +3 years direct industry experience in the field of caulks and sealants is preferred, but general experience in an applications development/technical service role is valuable as a base for development in the role
- Technical skills related to application and product development
- Broad communication skills - internal and external, written and email - are important to job effectiveness, and building good internal and customer relationships
- Organizational skills and follow-through are important to all aspects of this job
- Prioritization and adapting to changing priorities are important in this role due to ever-changing customer and plant needs
- Possess ability to think creatively when working with customers in new or existing applications
- It is necessary to adapt to specific customer needs, process setup, or final end use applications, to aid in the development of new products, or to solve customer or product problems
