Coatings World has always been a supporter of the academic side of the paint and coatings industry. As such we make it a point of attending as many education-related events as we can. One event that we never miss is the Waterborne, High-Solids and Powder Coatings Symposium, which will be held this year February 24-28 in New Orleans. Held annually by the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Polymers and High Performance Materials, this event brings together the brightest students with the top companies involved in the formulation of waterborne and other environmentally friendly coatings. And all of the proceeds from this Symposium go to fund the students and the Polymer Science program at USM.
This year I am proud to announce that we will not just be attendees, but will be actively participating in the Symposium. Our publisher, Dale Pritchett, will be moderating a Pigments Panel and an Automotive Panel. The Automotive Panel will include presentations from automotive manufacturers Ford and Toyota as well as PPG automotive coatings and Sun Chemical pigments.
In addition, contributing editors Steve and Beth McDaniel of Technology Litigators will be presenting an overview of some of their more popular topics discussed in their monthly column iPaint.
If you are planning on attending the event please stop by our tabletop exhibit and pick up the latest issue of our magazine.
