Excelda Manufacturing Company has been awarded a U.S. patent for its durable self-cleaning marine coatings that exhibit good release properties. The first coating is based on 60% silicone elastomer, 20% hydrocarbon solvent and 20% silicone fluid. The second coating, based on 54% silicone elastomer, 20% hydrocarbon solvent, 20% silicone fluid and six percent release additive, is applied over silane primer on sanded substrate. An application process is claimed in this patent.
