intumescent coatings have been
patented by Isle Firestop Ltd.
The compositions offer high fire
resistance and good adhesion to wood
and metal and are easily prepared.
They contain specified proportions of
polyatomic alcohol, preferably pentaerythritol
or sorbitol, ammonium
polyphosphate, urea, amonnium chloride,
boric acid, filler (talc), binder
and pigments.
