The R/S-SST Rheometer
l Brookfield Engineering Laboratories has introduced a soft solids tester that measures yield behavior in gels, pastes and liquid/semi-solid materials with suspended particles. The Brookfield R/S-SST, part of the R/S rheometer family, features the ability to operate in both controlled stress and controlled rate modes. Vane spindles are used to provide both viscosity and shear stress measurements. The SST quantifies viscoelastic properties such as wobbliness, sloppiness, consistency and texture. Data is recorded and analyzed using Rheo 2000 software in conjunction with the Soft Solids Module, according to the company.
