PPG’s coatings sales for the third quarter rose six percent, as volumes increased in every business except aerospace, according to the company. The coatings segment generated record third quarter earnings, up 45% from 2001. Third quarter sales for 2002 were $1.13 billion, compared to $1.07 billion in 2001. Nine month sales were $3.37 billion, compared to $3.33 billion over the same period in 2001.
