Tremco, a subsidiary of RPM International Inc., has acquired Koch Waterproofing Solutions, Inc., the Reynoldsburg, OH-based maker of Tuff-N-Dri basement waterproofing and Watchdog waterproofing products.
Koch Waterproofing Solutions, which had sales of approximately $30 million in 2002, will operate as Tremco Barrier Solutions Division, a stand-alone business within the sealant/weatherproofing division of the Tremco Group.
“Koch Waterproofing Solutions is an excellent strategic fit, and exemplifies the types of synergistic opportunities that RPM is targeting for acquisition,” said Frank C. Sullivan, chief executive officer of RPM. “This purchase extends Tremco’s capabilities into adjacent markets and technologies, with industry-leading brands and an entrepreneurial management team.”
According to Randy Korach, president of the Tremco sealant/weatherproofing division, the business will become Tremco’s residential business platform, providing RPM with a new channel to the residential new-construction market. “We also see synergies on the commercial side, where Tremco’s respected brand position and strong specification presence will speed the transfer of the new division’s technologies to emerging markets,” Mr. Korach added.
