Rohm and Haas has received a patent for an aqueous coating composition having improved adhesion to friable surfaces. The aqueous coating composition includes a plurality of polymeric particles having a particle size of less than 120 nanometers, and containing at least two polymers, one of which contains, as polymerized units, acid functional monomers, water soluble monomers, or both. Optionally, the composition includes a nonionic surfactant.
