Altana Chemie Acquires Share
OF Nanophase Technologies
Altana Chemie AG, Wesel, Germany, has acquired seven percent of Nanophase Technologies for approximately $10 million, forging a partnership in which the Romeoville, IL-based company will supply certain nanomaterials for use in paints, coatings and plastics. The two firms will collaborate to develop materials for general industrial and architectural coatings, printing inks and other applications.
Altana purchased 1.25 million shares of Nanophase common stock at $7.96 per share.
