Eastman Chemical Company has received a patent for UV-curable non-chlorinated adhesion promoter/primer compositions for improved adhesion of paint, inks and adhesives to plastics and metals. The compositions give good solvent- and water-resistance, are waterborne- and solventborne- modified polyolefin compositions containing unsaturated pendant groups, such as reaction product of functionalized polyolefins with ethylenically unsaturated compounds having functional groups reactive with functional groups of polyolefins, and also contain photoinitiator and optionally, other ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agents, for UV and EB curing.
